Why and How You Can Participate

To celebrate National Novel Writing Month, aka NaNoWriMo, and inspire all the writers considering submitting to the Violet Margin journal, we are posting writing prompts on Twitter and Instagram. These prompts are an excellent way to hone your writing skills and an even better way to interact socially with fellow writers all over the globe.
Responses to the prompts will be reviewed on the social media accounts for Violet Margin, and some lucky writers will have their responses featured here in the daily prompts section of this site.
Many of the prompts will have specific word counts. If one plans on submitting a longer piece (over 750 words), consider submitting the work for review for possible inclusion in the 2023 Spring journal.
